Stories of Hope

My name is Dan:

I am a college graduate. I currently have a son who is a college student. I have never had any alcohol or drug dependency. However, after having a thirty-year impeccable work history, I stole from my employer and was convicted. I had to face the embarrassment of telling my family and friends of my major mistake. I had to spend some time in jail and thereafter probation. Thru the power of God and people who cared, I have been able to break the chain of depression, working and trying to earn the respect of my family back.

My name is Dave:

A few years ago I suffered from a terrible divorce, felt hopeless, and was homeless. Thru caring people I was able to heal and get my former job back. I now have my own apt and enjoy giving encouragement to the homeless.

My name is Darryl:

I am a former pastor. Unfortunately, a few years ago, drugs took over my life. I lost my wife and children and was homeless. A few caring people helped me recover. My wife and children are now with me, and I am serving again in our church.

My name is Dale:

I have not had a drink in thirty-six months. But thirty-seven months ago I was unable to hold a job, and I was unsaved. Today, I know God, I am sober, have a wonderful job, and am proud to sing in my church choir weekly.

This article recently appeared on the front page of the Orlando Sentinel and explains why New Beginnings wants to open a home for homeless women and children. As the article states, because of the lack of housing for families, too often the children are separated from their parents and put into a foster home, or another shelter. New Beginnings believes that it is important to keep the family intact while they are going
thru their struggles. We hope that you embrace our expansion.
