How Individuals Recover
The people who come to our home have hurts, habits, and hang-ups. New Beginnings provides programs that create a road to recovery. We use a 12-step recovery program as our basis, while providing a disciplined and loving environment. We teach that there is a consequence with every action and decision that one makes, so through this we expose them to the evils of drugs, alcohol, and depression. Finally, we have those who are willing to share their testimonies about their experiences of homelessness and how they were helped by New Beginnings in their recovery.
We provide food, clothing, housing, and have professional counselors available for assistance. Once the individuals are mentally and physically ready to work, we connect them with employers for interview opportunities, as well as transportation to the new job.
When the individuals first arrive, they are given books, tapes, and workbooks to complete prior to being accepted back into the workforce. We want them to be well-grounded, polite and friendly and be certain that they will be a valuable asset for any employer by conducting their business in a professional manner.
During their stay at our home, they attend weekly events and recovery meetings, hear testimonies from local citizens, and recieve one-on-one attention from accountability partners who help them in their path of recovery. The goal is to provide weekly teaching and testimonies from people who have recovered from hurts, habits, and hang-ups in order to show that with faith all things are possible. Also, knowing that people care about them is crucial!
